Snack ideas for autumn/Winter!

As the weather starts getting colder and the days get darker, i go out less and spend more time in my house watching TV (and baking, so expect some recipes soon!). While i binge watch my favourite TV series i have to have some sort of snack with me so i don’t get hungry. Its so easy to buy a tub of ‘Ben and Jerry’s’, a packet of sweets, LOADS of chocolate and just pick away throughout the day however your body and skin don’t appreciate this as much as your tastebuds do. so, the question is – ‘is it possible to have healthy, yummy, quick snacks?’ Well we’ve got a few easy delicious snacks that aren’t too bad for you!

  1. Apple sandwiches

Apple sandwiches are my go to quick, easy snack this autumn! They are just too good, all you need to do is slice an apple and put a filling in the middle of two slices – you could have marmite, peanut butter, jam, raisins, nuts or just anything you want! You can also have triple layered ones or quadruple (is that the right word?) or 100 layers if you really want! i actually think i prefer the taste of these to a normal sandwich which is great because they are super healthy!

2. Energy balls!

There are so many different yummy recipes for energy balls all over Pinterest! all you have to do is make them  and then put them in a pot/bowl or on a plate and you can pick at them and have them whenever you want as a back throughout the week. i make these all the time for mornings when I’m running late for school or i have a few of them in my lunch or as a snack at home! They’re so easy to make and there is so many different recipes and options.

3. Veggie Hummus jars!

I don’t know about you, but i have a slight obsession with hummus so another of my all time favourite snacks is veggies and hummus. When I saw these hummus pots on Pinterest a few weeks ago I thought it was the best idea ever – they’re so cute and you can make a load of them and then put them in fridge for when you want a lazy snack! Some veggies i like to have with it are cucumbers, celery, carrot and peppers!

4. chia jar!

These chia jars are sooooooooooo healthy and can be had as a snack, a breakfast or a pudding! they are so yummy and i love having one a few times a week to keep me healthy! Chia seeds are an amazing source of protein and omega 3, so if you have some chia seeds, yoghurt, fruit and maybe some nuts its unbelievably good for you (not to mention it tastes incredible!). again you could pre-prepare some and keep them in the fridge or, they only take a minute or two to make so you could make them on the go!

5. Granola bar/ breakfast bar!

Everybody has tried granola bars before! They only take around 15 minutes to make and then you can but them in a pot, have as much as you want and it will probably last you throughout the week! I find them to be so convenient in the morning or as a snack, and if you like baking you can get creative and try lots of different ingredients and recipes!

I hope you liked our list – what’s your go to snacks this autumn? be sure to give us a like and follow! And if you want to see more head over to our twitter at Sarah_and_Ellie. Don’t forget to comment your thoughts! xxx
